The foundation of restorative yoga is the practice of deliberate stillness.
-Relax and Renew, Judith Lasater, PhD, PT
"The ability to relax is built in to all of us. Our mission, then, is not to create relaxation, but to allow it to release
an ability that we already have. The secret is to set up the circumstance for relaxation, then to remain passive and allow
the process to unfold of its own accord."

The National Institute of Health funded a study on Restorative Yoga and hot flashes last year that was so successful that
they are now funding a study on Restorative Yoga and Metabolic Syndrome. This is because in the hot flash study the participants
showed reduced tryglicerides, reduced low density cholesterol and reduced blood sugar levels. These were unexpected, but welcome
results.
Additionally, NIH is now funding a study on Restorative and anxiety, and another one on Restoratives and breast cancer.
