What are essential oils?

How are essential oils used?

Essential oils are used via inhalation and/or skin application, and can be used daily to promote health and well being. The most common methods are massage, bath, and diffusion. Because essential oils are highly concentrated, they are usually diluted in a carrier oil before use.

 

Aromatherapy Solutions

The Blues

Essential Oils:
Orange, Bergamot, Lemon, Frankincense, Geranium Rose

Benefits:
Uplifts. Helps to balance the emotions.

How to use:
Put three drops on a tissue and inhale the aroma. Pause and inhale again. Diffuse into the room using a cool air diffuser. Geranium Rose and Frankincense can be used to massage the neck and shoulders. Mix 8 drops of essential oils in 1 tablespoon of carrier oil.

 

Holiday Stress

Essential oils:
Lavendar, Chamomile Roman, Rose, Frankincense, Neroli.Hydrosols: Lavendar, Chamomile Roman, Rose.

Benefits:
Relaxes, calms.

How to use:
Essentail Oils: Take a warm bath, adding 8 drops of essential oil after you have immersed yourself into the tub. Mist neck and shoulders.

 

Windburn, Chapped Skin

Essential Oils:
Lavendar Highland, Chamomile Blue. Special Plant Oil: Calophyllum Inophyllum.

Benefits:
Soothes irritated skin.

How to use:
Mix 3 drops Lavendar Highland or Chamomile Blue in one tablespoon of jojoba oil. Gently apply to the skin. Apply special plant oil directly to the skin.

 

Anti-Viral

Essential Oils:
Ravensara, Eucalyptus, Radiata, Tea Tree

Helps fight viral infections.

Essential Oils:

How to use:
Mix 10 drops of essential oil in one teaspoon of carrier oil. Massage upper chest and upper back. Put 3 drops on tissue and inhale aroma.Pause and inhale again.

Lavendar, Chanomile Roman, Marjoram Sweet.

Benefits:
Soothes aches and pains.

How to use:
Mix ten drops of essential oil in two tablespoons carrier oil or lotion and massage areas of discomfort.

Essential Oils:
Rosemary, Eucalyptus, Geranium, Cypress.

Benefits:
Stimulates circulation.

How to use:
Mix 20 drops of essential oil in 1 ounce carrier oil or lotion and massage the area.
